Oppa Has Arrived

I just read an article about DongHae's & EunHyunk's (from Super Junior) new project song "Oppa Has Arrived".
At first, I was like: "Sounds like a weird song."
Then I listened to the song,
And now I'm still like "Sounds like a weird song."

Hahah but honestly, I don't really mean that in a bad way. The song and preformance is pretty damn weird and unique, but that's what makes it entertaining! And honestly, the song is quite catchy!

I actually enjoyed the song but mostly the preformance along with it, haha.

So, instead of taking the flight to fly over to Korea right away, I sat with other VIPs and succeeded on trending on Twitter Worldwide only after 15 minutes! And only #VIPanda was planned, ㅋㅋㅋ. VIPs DAEBAK! This is what I call the Power of Victory.. ♥

What's Up episode 1 Subbed

YES! Thanks to bigbangupdates.com, there is now English subs available for the first episode of the k-drama What's Up!

I'm not even finished watching the episode yet, but my computer is so slow that if I wanna watch HD it has to buffer for ages LOL. So I thought I'd share with you guys while it's at it!

Edit: I just finished the first episode. MAH LOOOOORD! *_* I admit that I got to know of this drama because of Bigbang's Daesung in the first place, but this comment from me would honestly be accurate whether he was in it or not: Amazing! I don't know, I just felt like this is really a kind of drama for me. So much happened in the first episode and it just captured me immediately. A lot of moral decisions, anxiety, secrets and amazing music, already in the first episode. If the drama continues to spoil me with awesomeness, I have no doubts that it will be one of my favourites! Also, great actors who really easily makes me see what kind of characters they are portraying.
And YES, for me it IS great to see Daesung in the drama, I'm not gonna lie. BUT, as I said earlier, the structure and feeling of the whole episode was really great so I doubt I wouldn't like it as much even if he wasn't in it.
First episode: 10/10 from me! I hope it continues like this, please don't disappoint me~

Hiyokoi

Hello people! I just finished an anime called Hiyokoi and I thought I'd share some thoughts about it.
Actually, it's not really an anime series because it's only one episode so I guess it would be called a 'special'. The episode is based on a manga of the same name; I didn't read the manga so I won't base my post on anything about the manga at all.

First off: Honestly, this anime didn't really appeal to me very much. I'm not very much of a shojo person; I do like shojo though but not these super girly ones with cliché after cliché. I'd say Hiyokoi was a bit like that I guess.

The girl is a super-tiny, super-shy girl (Hiyori) who comes back to school after a year of being hospitalized from getting run over by a truck breaking all her bones (lol.. but that's what they said at least. o.o). She is the typical blushing, quiet, crying little kawaii-shojo girl. Unfortunately, the type of girls I don't usually like in a manga/anime. Then there's this guy (Yuushin) who is very tall, popular amongst the students, talks a lot, smiles a lot, makes jokes but is still kind. Unfortunately, the type of guys I don't usually like in a manga/anime.

So I guess that pretty much sums up why I wasn't too fond of the anime. But the last thing is all the cliché's. I'm not going to give you all the examples I could, but for example the last scene.. Hiyori is sitting next to Yuushin in class (of course) and he is asleep, when Hiyori figures out that she doesn't have a notebook with her (this happens two times in this short anime as well..) so she shyly tries to wake him up to ask for it. But it seems like he doesn't hear her, so she gets dissappointed (awww..). But then(!!), while in the same sleeping pose, he hands her his notebook, and then we get a zoom in on his face, smiling at her. And she gets super surprised and blushy and this scene gets a couple of seconds of slow-motioned bubbles flying around on a pink background with them smiling and blushing and whatever, and then the episode is over. wat.

Sorry that it sounds like I'm bashing this anime but I don't really mean it in that way lol. D; (I hope no hardcore-Hiyoki fans come read this, they all would hate me, HAH :C) I'm just trying to tell you why I wasn't fond of the anime, and I don't mean that you would dislike it just because I did!
If you are a shojo-lover then I bet you would enjoy this anime anyway! I mean, it's only like, 22 minutes long, so why not give it a try? ^^

Paprika (Anime movie)

Hi all! I just finished an anime movie called Paprika from 2006.

I would like to start off with telling you a bit about the story. The story is pretty complicated though (or maybe that's just me, because I have a hard time understanding stories unfortunately) but I'll do my best to explain it very shortly.

Okay so in the story, this device called DC Mini is developed which is something that makes you able to enter peoples dreams. A prototype of this DC Mini is stolen though, and such a tool in the wrong hands can destroy a persons personality while sleeping. Scientist Atsuko Chiba has an 'other self' which she uses to enter the dream world to try and find out who is using the device. This alter-ego is called Paprika.

Even though I have a hard time following the stories and details to the fullest (not only in Paprika, but in every series. I don't know why, it's annoying as hell) I still really enjoyed the movie! It has a unique art to it, and the creators are not afraid to push the boundaries and to draw really weird, different, gross and awesome stuff! I like these movies with a feeling of a.. I don't know how to explain it, odd fairytale? (Kind of like Miyazaki-movies). Really beautiful movie to watch and there are always something going on that makes you interested and never bored. The music is also very nice and very fitting for the style of the movie!

"What's up" drama now airing!

Finally, the highly anticipated drama What's Up is currently airing! I can't wait to start watching it! The only thing stopping me from watching the first episode is that Viki has not subbed it 100% yet. ;_;

If you want to check it out anyway on Viki (even though the subs are FAR from finished), klick here! But if you don't know korean, I highly recommend you to wait for the subs to be finished.
There may be subs available some other place, but since Viki is my favourite place to watch K-drama (usually very nice video and audio quality!) I will wait for it.

Japanese weirdness - Making an ocarina out of a carrot

Have you ever seen someone make an instrument out of a fruit or vegetable? NO? REALLY? Okay, me neither, until now.
People who are familiar with the Legend Of Zelda-series may know of this instrument called Ocarina (otherwise, here is a picture for you:)

I just found a video of a Japanese dude making one of these out of a carrot! And on top of that, you can really play music with it! I saw that he has also made ocarinas out of different kinds of fruits and vegetables - how do you come up with stuff like these anyway?!

It's just weird. But cool.

My Girlfriend is a Gumiho

Okay, I just finished watching My Girlfriend is a Gumiho (I actually finished it like, this very minute lol!) so I decided to share some thoughts!

Okay, so I'll tell you quickly about the story: One day Cha Dae Woong (Lee Seung Gi) accidently sets a gumiho/nine-tailed fox (Shin Min Ah) free who has been locked up by her grandmother in a painting for over 500 years. The gumiho takes form of a human and she starts to follow Dae Woong and takes liking to him. She also threatens to eat him if he doesn't buy her cow meat.

There is a whole lot more to tell about the story but as usual I don't want to spoil anything!

Anyway, I'll share some thoughts! First of all, this drama can be described in two simple words: Cuteness Overload! I mean, Seung Gi / Dae Woong is simply a cutie and the gumiho / Min Ah is so adooooorable! Her character is just.. So cute!

At first, I didn't actually like her at all. But it took me only like, 2 episodes or so to start to like her.

I really enjoyed the drama a lot! Watching Dae Woong being scared of gumiho and trying to get rid of her, while she was fond of him and wanted to follow him everywhere. Seeing Dae Woong trying to deny his feelings when he started to fall for gumiho, since he felt that he couldn't possibly be falling for a non-human being.

The ending.. Maybe it's because I just finished watching it and I haven't really had time to process it, but I'm not sure what I think about the ending yet. It's not a tragedy ending though, but I'd be very surprised if it was since it's the Hong Sisters who wrote this drama. But I still don't know if I think the ending was good or bad? Hmm.. I DO think that it could have been done a bit better, but at the same time it didn't really disappoint me completely either. The last few episodes made me feel a bit uneasy though (if you watch the drama you will get why I guess) but what happened there is something that happens in many dramas so I don't know why I felt that way. Okay, it's hard to try to tell you about it this way since I can't spoil lol.. <_< But honestly, other than that thing, I really really enjoyed this drama! It's simply cute and funny, and it makes you happy. Of course there are sad moments too, otherwise we couldn't call it drama, na? ;)

WOW, okay I just blabbered in this post, sorry. ._.

Summary: If you are looking for a cute and fun series, but also with a good amount of drama, you should check My Girlfriend is a Gumiho out!

Souvenirs from Japan

Hello reader-sama~
I'm sorry for not updating a lot about my trip to Japan; I was actually thinking about making a post a few days ago but then I realized that I don't have my laptop right now, where the pictures are (and I really want to share some photos too) so you'll have to wait for that for a while. I'll get my laptop on sunday again I think!

I do have a picture to show you that I took with another camera, so I still had the pictures on the memory cards.

I really regret that I didn't buy the latest One Piece volume in Japanese!! Geez, I saw it and.. It looked.. So pretty *_* <-Psycho fan.

That way I would be able to practice my Japanese as well. But of course I didn't buy it. Of course.. Stupid me.
